Doubt: A Stop Sign to God

Doubt

The definition of doubt: to lack confidence in

“Blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed” – John 20:29b

“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a Rewarder of them that diligently seek him” – Hebrews 11:6

Many relationships are destroyed once trust has been broken.  It’s very difficult to trust someone once they have been found to be untrustworthy

Man throughout centuries have been known to break their word not only to each other, but also to God.  But, God has never broken any promise He has ever made

Many believe that God don’t keep His promise  because of situations they are involved in, but what they are not realizing is that if you don’t walk according to God’s word, no promise will come to pass on your behalf

God does not break promises, but is a God of His word……….Always and Forever!

Doubt: A Stop Sign to God

When we doubt God, we are literally tying His hands behind His back.  God cannot do what He desires to do when doubt is present because when we doubt, we are telling God that we have no confidence in Him and don’t believe He can help us in our time of need

Jesus clearly stated in His word, “If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you”

God does not require us to have a bundle of faith for Him to initiate His power, but only a small grain

How to Overcome Doubt

Pray for your faith to be increased: (Luke 17:5)

Read the bible. There is so much in the Holy Book that concerns troubled faith, for example: Psalms 14:1 ‘The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good.’ Also, read John 20:29, ‘Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”‘, and Hebrews 11, which talks about the importance of faith

Remind yourself of God’s faithfulness. First, remember that it is God’s character to be faithful. Lamentations 3:21-23 helps us see this

Be around others who will encourage your faith. Especially if you are weak in your faith and starting to waver. Fellow Christians can help build up your faith, encouraging you and praying for you
